Orthopedic Health of Kansas City

NKC Medical Partners awarded MC Power Companies the canopy solar array project with battery storage. This design-build project included engineering, integration, construction, and monitoring of the solar canopy system into a new 2 story medical building. The new array provides 251.505kW of DC power to the buildings’ solar footprint. MC Power also installed 280kWh battery storage on-site for this project.

MC Power’s in-house engineering team provided the client with a complete stamped construction set detailing the complete design. The MC Power installation team worked with the client to install this system during normal operating hours without any business interruption. The solar canopy system is 251.505kW in size. The array consists of 729 - 345-watt Hanwha Solar modules. These modules are held in place by a racking system specifically designed for canopy projects. The energy harvested by the solar panels is converted by 6 Solectria inverters. Monitoring is provided in real time through the integrated microgrid controller providing immediate production, fault detection, and email/text alerts, all viewable from a web-based portal. The project, designed, engineered, and constructed by MC Power Companies was completed on time and within budget.
